After an early career at the Office of National Statistics, working on a variety of social research projects commissioned by Government departments, I moved into financial services at APACS, implementing database systems to monitor money transmission volumes across the UK clearings. There, I worked on statistical analysis of credit card fraud. While I can’t claim that my analysis led to an arrest, it did help the banks in the battle to combat fraud.
I joined Tangible Data in November 2004 to head up the Insight team, after working for ten years at a customer insight consultancy Strategic Research, where I first launched STARS; the only CRM tool to merge attitudinal market research with transactional customer activity. I’ve since developed this technology at Tangible Data, including a module assessing financial impact. STARS is used widely within the commercial sector, at British Gas, AXA, Nationwide and Vodafone.
